What Clausage reads
From claude.ai, using the session you signed in with:
- Your limit percentages and when each one resets.
- Your plan and how this week splits across products like Claude Code, Cowork and Chat.
- On iPhone, your usage credits and your account email, so you can tell which account is signed in. The Mac shows the organization name instead.
On Mac, only if you turn on Scan Claude Code sessions: the session logs Claude Code wrote to ~/.claude in the last 7 days. From each request Clausage takes the time, token counts, model and which skills, subagents, plugins and MCP servers were involved, then keeps only the totals.
What it never keeps
- Your chats, prompts or files on claude.ai. Clausage only reads the usage page.
- Your password. You sign in on claude.ai’s own page. Clausage keeps only the session claude.ai hands back.
- Payment details.
- What’s inside your Claude Code sessions. Prompts, code, responses and file paths are never extracted or stored.
Where it’s kept
The Mac and iPhone apps don’t talk to each other, and nothing is synced through iCloud. Each one signs in and keeps its own data. Like any app’s data, it can be part of your device backups.
What leaves your device
- Requests to claude.ai. To fetch your usage, Clausage calls claude.ai with your session, the same way your browser does. On Mac it loads claude.ai’s usage page in a hidden window, so the page runs as it would in your browser. These requests are covered by Anthropic’s privacy policy.
- Update checks, on Mac. About every 6 hours and shortly after launch, unless you turn off Check automatically, Clausage asks clausage.ai whether a newer version exists. The request carries the app’s name and version, and like any web request, your IP address. No system profile is sent.
- Outage alerts, on Mac, if you turn them on. Clausage checks status.claude.com, Anthropic’s public status page.
- Feedback, only when you send it. It’s an email to the counter from your own mail app, so it comes from your address; there’s no feedback server. On Mac it’s your message plus the app and macOS version. On iPhone it’s your message and a screenshot of the Usage screen (attached unless you remove it), any photos you add, and, if you turn them on, diagnostics (app and iOS version, device model, plan, background refresh setting and the last refresh result) and a usage snapshot. Preview What’s Sent shows the message text before it goes.
That’s all of it. Clausage has no analytics, crash reporting, ads or tracking, and there’s no Clausage server holding your data.
This website sets no cookies and runs no tracking scripts. Like most sites, its host keeps standard server logs (IP address, page, browser and referring site), which we use only to count visitors.
Notifications
Limit alerts are created on your device from the usage it already has. There’s no push server, and turning alerts off doesn’t change what Clausage reads from claude.ai.
Deleting your data
- iPhone: Settings → Privacy → Clear Cached Usage removes stored usage and history but keeps you signed in; Home Screen widgets show “No data” until the next refresh. Sign Out and Delete Everything removes your session, cached usage, weekly history and settings.
- Mac: Settings → Accounts → Disconnect removes that account’s session, history and stored usage. Turning off Scan Claude Code sessions removes Clausage’s access to
~/.claudeand discards the totals. - Before deleting the iPhone app, sign out. Keychain entries can outlive the app, and signing out removes the session.
- Feedback you’ve sent: email us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If anything here changes, this page and the date at the top change with it. Anything that changes what leaves your device will also be called out in the release notes.
